About Us
The UBA Process
UBA and its advisors work with each Local to provide periodic work shops that members are encouraged to attend. Workshops typically occur at the Local’s location between shutdowns. The goal of these meetings is to prepare members for retirement while making them aware of some common challenges specific to them.
The workshops cover investment volatility, inflation, taxes and health care costs so that each member can understand the potential perils in retirement. Additional workshop topics include topics such as longevity, chronic illness, Social Security and will and estate planning.
Those who wish to move forward with lifestyle/retirement planning after attending the workshops will have opportunities to schedule an individual consultation with a knowledgeable advisor. All costs for consultations are waived for the skilled trade members and their families.
